The Drow Queen, Lineerue, despised the interactions with inferior races and forbid trade and communication with humans. Drow nobility allied with the rulers of Glenelg to assassinate Queen Lineerue. Drow of Lacuna Nox formed a strong alliance with the city of Glenelg and the new trade routes rapidly increased the cities wealth.

The city is flooded and all the accumulated wealth and knowledge is lost to the sea. The refuges of the disaster flee to Glenelg. After regaining some strength, Drow built a new city named New Nox. The survivors created an academy and promoted literature in an attempt to save the knowledge lost to the flood. The gain in education led to the creation of the Dridir: a monstrous fusion of spider and Drow. Drow enslave these creatures and force them to build a massive black pyramid to prove the power of the Drow to the world.
