Cruel and cunning, drow are a dark reflection of the elven race. Also called dark elves, they dwell deep underground in elaborate cities shaped from the rock of cyclopean caverns. Drow seldom make themselves known to surface folk, preferring to remain legends while advancing their sinister agendas through proxies and agents. Drow have no love for anyone but themselves, and are adept at manipulating other creatures. While they are not born evil, malignancy is deep-rooted in their culture and society, and nonconformists rarely survive for long.

Drow

Cruel and cunning, drow are a dark reflection of the elven race. Also called dark elves, they dwell deep underground in elaborate cities shaped from the rock of cyclopean caverns. Drow seldom make themselves known to surface folk, preferring to remain legends while advancing their sinister agendas through proxies and agents. Drow have no love for anyone but themselves, and are adept at manipulating other creatures. While they are not born evil, malignancy is deep-rooted in their culture and society, and nonconformists rarely survive for long.

History: The Drow formed a civilization in the underground city of Lacuna Nox. Believing they were the superior race the Drow chose to stay isolated from the surface populations of humans and elves. As decades progressed and the Drow were increasingly coming into contact with the city of Glenelg; the nobility began to form bonds with the humans. The Drow Queen, Lineerue, despised the interactions with inferior races and forbid trade and communication with humans. The Drow nobility ally with the rulers of Glenelg to assassinate Queen Lineerue. The Drow of Lacuna Nox form a strong alliance with the city of Glenelg and the new trade routes rapidly increase the cities wealth. As Lacuna Nox expands disaster strikes the city. During the rapid expansion of the city the builders break through to “the flow” (A massive flooded underground that expands for hundreds of miles). The city is flooded and all the accumulated wealth and knowledge is lost to the sea. The refuges of the disaster flee to Glenelg. After regaining some strength the Drow build a new city named New Nox. The survivors create an academy and promote literature in an attempt to save the knowledge lost to the flood. The gain in education leads to the creation of the Dridir: a monstrous fusion of spider and Drow. The Drow enslave these creatures and force them to build a massive black pyramid to prove the power of the Drow to the world.
